Bestselling author Max Lucado, in his latest book, Outlive Your Life, tells everyone that “You Were Made to Make a Difference”. Through the 16 chapters of this book, challenges are presented in a manner that will literally make you stop and think of how you measure up, and, more importantly, how you can better your life.
Although each chapter will present a unique message of the applied gospel, Chapter 16, titled “Stand Up for the Have-Nots” for me spoke highly of the theme of this book. What you may not be aware of before holding this book is that 100% of the author’s royalties from all of the Outlive Your Life products will benefit the children and families through World Vision and other ministries of faith-based compassion. Lucado's unique writing style, mixed with his honest perspective on life, creates a book that encourages as it challenges, and uplifts as it subtly chastens. I found I had to ask myself several times why I knew what Lucado was saying, but I wasn't acting on it. Outlive Your Life is a call to all Christians to walk what we say we believe. To move like we say we do. To be what we say we are -- Followers of Christ. I encourage everyone that wants to live their Christian life to the fullest to get this book, as well as Lucado's Fearless, and read them one after the other. You will walk away with a new understanding of God's will for you, I can promise you that.

Leader’s Heart by John Maxwell is a 365 day devotional journal that is a daily dose of inspiration to leaders- urging them to grow in all avenues of leadership. This journal is constructed with four thoughts in mind - connect the reader to God, provide daily encouragement that inspires growth, and help keep the reader focused upon leadership while following God’s guidance in the Bible. John Maxwell, one of the best leadership coaches today, teaches the reader that while respecting God’s position as our ultimate leader, those of us who are in leadership positions will grow in the Lord and help others to grow too. Having held leadership positions for years, I wish I would have had this book 30 years ago. Each page is a fresh experience in the presence of God and His divine direction for leaders. I am inspired to chart out a ‘growth map’ for myself and those whom I lead as a result of the information contained in this book. Looking back over the years as I read through the pages of this book, I can see so many places where I was in error, so many places where I was right on, and so many places where growth was necessary. I have always believed in inspiring my subordinates to be the best they can be, but sometimes lacked the proper tools to properly inspire others. This book offers those tools, and is a complete and well rounded volume of life lessons for leaders. I encourage anyone who is in a leadership position, or aspiring to hold a leadership position to obtain a copy of this book. This book is to be read daily, and I suggest it accompany your Bible as a daily “first read” along with prayer.
