In his book Man Alive, Patrick Morley addresses the
dissatisfaction of mediocrity and complacency in each man's life through seven
primal needs. Through each chapter, Morley demonstrates that men do not have to
settle for less, and, in fact, it is God's desire for men to lead a life of
meaning and purpose.
Like most of his works, this book is specifically geared toward a small group setting as each chapter concludes with discussion questions and the book itself ends with a "Discussion Leader's Guide." Having read other offerings from this author, I looked forward to seeing how this work would compliment his earlier works. Morley effectively discusses salvation, discipleship, overcoming sin cycles, and building healthy relationships with family and friends. Again, while the material is incredibly valuable, I was expecting more from this book and find it lacking overall.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through their bloggers review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
